Tim Barber windowRenaissance Design Studio window designed by Tim Barber for #LEGENDS2013

A paean to Franklin D. Roosevelt, architect Tim Barber’s mise en scene at Renaissance Design Studio for Legends 2013   “celebrates learning from our past and making wise choices for our future.”

Barber is an LA architect known for custom residences and renovations in vernacular architectural styles. Characterized by authentic details, responsible materials and the inventive use of natural light, Barber’s architecture, lighting and furnishings all integrate handcrafted, durable construction with cutting-edge, sustainable technology. One of his firm’s latest projects is a Shingle Style LEED Gold new home.  Auteur Furnishings, Barber’s line of furniture and lighting, features FSC-certified wood, zero VOC finishes and compostable fabrics.

A quote from the architect on this year’s #LEGENDS2013 theme, Time Capsule: The Past, Present and Future of Design:

“History repeats itself – and lessons we don’t learn, we are destined to repeat. I put a favorite quotation from Franklin D. Roosevelt on the window because it was meaningful in the 1930’s – and is even more relevant today. My time capsule celebrates learning from our past and making wise choices for our future.”
