Antique Rug Company & The Rug Affair, window designed by Annie Kelly for #LEGENDS2013

Annie Kelly is a decorator, magazine writer, author and magazine editor. Born in Australia, Kelly first trained as an artist. She began decorating with Frank Lloyd Wright’s La Miniatura in Pasadena, featured as a cover story in Architectural Digest. A quote from the designer on her #LEGENDS2013 window design for Antique Rug Company & The Rug Affair and Hollywood Sierra Kitchens:

“I was inspired by Doris Duke’s extraordinary collection of Islamic art, at Shangri La, her fantasy Hawaiian estate, helped by Tony Duquette, and influenced by architecture from the Middle East, as well as Alhambra, the Taj Mahal, and even the ancient city of Persepolis.”

Since 1980 Barry and Dina Amiri of Antique Rug Company, a Los Angeles rug showroom, have supplied and cared for fine quality antique Oriental and Persian rugs. Barry is one of seven senior rug appraisers in US accredited by American Society of Appraisers [January 2009]. A valued and trusted source in both the trade and public domain, he can help you with your best interests at heart. Antique Rug Company’s premium rug services include cleaning, repair, appraisal and personalized rug search concerning all types of antique oriental rugs and carpets.

The Rug Affair, owned by Barry and Dina Amiri as well, has a range of collections from contemporary originals with inspiring, up-to-date colors and cutting edge contemporary rug designs to elegant recreations of antique rugs and traditional patterns. Their diverse selection of Tibetan rugs provides you with a wide range of transitional and contemporary rug designs. Other collections consist of new handmade rugs in popular classic and traditional patterns with modified and fashion forward colors.
