Una Malan Expands to Second Showroom; Stunning New Furniture and Lighting Collections on Display

In 2017, Una Malan proudly moved her fledgling showroom to the La Cienega Design Quarter, into a charming John Elgin Woolf designed building off of one of the few remaining original courtyards on La Cienega Boulevard. Just shy of LEGENDS 2019, held May 7 to 9, she opened a second location, this one directly on La Cienega, next to Cache and a few doors north of Alt for Living and Richard Shapiro Studiolo.

Her new space features fabrics and select pieces of furniture, and to coincide with the expansion she is showing two new collections: interior and product designer Robert Marinelli’s latest furniture designs and the latest modern lighting from Joseph Pagano.

The new upholstery and case goods from Marinelli, based in New York and Los Angeles, artfully embody both functionality and style, and the way Malan displays them is a bit like theater.

“Robert’s pieces are contemporary, yet timeless, and customizable in so many ways,” says Malan. “It is always a pleasure to see what personal touch each designer will put on them for their own projects, always creating a fresh interpretation.”

Pagano is an accomplished New York-based artist who, for 30 years, has applied his talents to modern lighting design and sculpture. Pagano’s pieces call upon the influence of nature to create imaginative one-of-a-kind shapes and shades.

Malan notes, “Joseph Pagano is a master in glassblowing and fabrication, and he custom designs and builds each style by hand with meticulous crafting and detailing.”

With a reputation for showing high-quality furniture and lighting that stand out in any setting, Malan’s courtyard showroom is styled in such a way as to give each guest the sense of a home. She has decided to keep most of the furniture and lighting there in the rooms that she has carefully curated, and her street-front showroom on La Cienega showcases textiles and fabrics.
