For three decades Los Angeles architect Thomas Proctor has created a distinctive body of work in the classical tradition, work notable for its poetry, grace, and mastery of detail. To introduce his first book, Thomas Proctor: Classical Houses, recently published by Rizzoli New York, Proctor will speak on classicism and its traditions as a source of inspiration, invention, and delight, drawing upon examples and exemplars from the ancient Mediterranean world to such modern masters as Southern California architects Gordon Kaufmann, Paul Williams, and Wallace Neff.
