Mehraban has launched an ensemble of rugs called The Bisous Collection in collaboration with designers and founding partners of FORM Design Studio, Joshua Rose and Rafael Kalichstein, who designed the rug showroom’s window for the La Cienega Design Quarter’s annual LEGENDS X event.

The eight carpets in the Bisous collection are original artworks that have been expertly translated into fine rugs. Handwoven in Nepal by Mehraban, the rugs perfectly adapt the passion and intention behind each individual brush stroke and color present on the original canvas. The rugs are 150 knot quality, wool and silk.

The rug collection is inspired by the ways in which human beings express themselves through language, poetry, art and architecture. Bisous is intended as a celebration–an exaltation–of art, expression, and life. The individual rugs are described as follows:

The namesake rug, Bisous, is a love letter. Behind each brush stroke is a thought unspoken, but committed, woven in all the colors of the soul's palette. Les Voix is inspired by the many different languages used to communicate with each other, even though the messages we share are the same. Bonbons is the delightful moment one discovers dissonance can be delicious. Souvenirs is a memory map, a marking of time and space through architecture.

FORM Design Studio is widely recognized for holistic living. The studio's work blends what is beautiful and what sustains, evolving the principle that "form follows function" so that neither leads nor follows; rather the relationship between the two is always harmonious, cyclical, and seamless. FORM Design Studio's founding partners are Emmy award-winning designer Joshua Rose and once-Chinese medical practitioner Rafael Kalichstein.

The Mehraban family has created a legacy in the rug design industry. For three generations, Mehraban Rugs has combined timeless and unique custom designs with unparalleled beauty and quality.
