Scalamandré windows designed by Kathryn M. Ireland for #LEGENDS2013.

Kathryn M. Ireland designed her #Legends2013 windows on either side of the door to Scalamandré’s La Cienega showroom using the new fabrics from the collection she introduced with Scalamandré in the Spring of this year.

“This fabric collection is a reflection of how re-purposing is what I do best,” says Ireland. “All of the fabrics are inspired by the Scalamandré archives which I then have given a colorful and modern twist to.”

The new collection reimagines earlier fabrics found in Scalamandré archives, with a Kathryn M. Ireland flair. Featuring  vibrant colors, lovely floral patterns and classic chic style, the patterns are named after homes Ireland has lived in or admired throughout her life. “I devised this collection from an interior designer’s point of view,” she says. “I think of it as grown up meets bohemian.”

Ireland is a British-born, Los Angeles-based interiors and textile designer. She is the author of four books including the recently released Timeless Interiors, and is also a featured designer on Bravo’s Million Dollar Decorators. Ireland launched her first collection of signature fabrics in 1997. At the same time she debuted her first collection with Scalamandré, she launched her furniture collaboration with Grange. Ireland’s clientele of celebrities and tastemakers includes Steve Martin, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Arianna Huffington, among many others.

Known for their exquisite designs and timeless styles, Scalamandré is a leading American purveyor of decorative fabrics, wallcoverings, trims, furnishings and accessories. Historic restoration and cultural commissions number over 1,000, among them: The White House, the U.S. Capitol, United States Treasury, Monticello, Mount Vernon, Colonial Williamsburg, The Morgan Library, Wrightsman Galleries at Metropolitan Museum of Art, Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum, Winterthur, the Mansions of Newport and the Metropolitan Opera House.
