Remains Lighting Lantern Collection
NEW YORK – Remains Lighting is launching six new lanterns in Summer 2009: each designed for versatility indoors or out, and traditional or contemporary settings. Additionally, all of these lanterns are available as hanging fixtures or with armature suitable for wall mounting.
The Heron Lantern is a modern distillation of a traditional English foursquare hall lantern, here in a new wall version. The solidity of the Heron body calls for the strength of robust material and precise mortise & tenon joinery in the armature construction. The solid brass of the body is 90% recycled material.
The Paul Lantern, defined by a vaulted roof with a robust body of cut brass panels and corner mullions which stand proud of the body, is available in both a wall and hanging lantern with frosted or clear glazing.
The Mercer lanterns, inspired by traditional stable windows, use clean expressed joinery and spare architectural profiles. At the core of the large-scale Mercer 36 is the tall and slender candelabra cluster, distinguished by the active profile of its line. Composed of 85% recycled brass, the body measures three feet tall.
Each lantern is designed and hand crafted of the highest quality materials by Remains Lighting, and is available in all 15 of the Remains Lighting signature finishes.
In keeping with the company’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and good environmental practice, Remains Lighting sources recycled and local raw materials wherever possible, and uses a “closed loop” plating system in the manufacturing of its products. In addition, Remain Lighting uses wind power for current energy needs, offers client incentives for reused packing materials, and buys 100% post-consumer recycled material for all new packing. The Remains Lighting factory is in the process of LEED certification.
