Liesel Plambeck

Mehraban Rugs debuts their newest collaboration – a collection of rugs with artist Liesel Plambeck – on Thursday, November 7, from 5 to 8 pm. There will be celebratory cocktails, Hamachi Hunters Tokyo Tacos and a Vinyl DJ set by James Brundage – and Plambeck will be on hand to show the new designs.

A Los Angeles native, Plambeck is an artist and designer who specializes in textile and product concepts inspired by life and scenery in California. Her designs are contemporary, combining the traditional art of rug making with modernist-influenced designs. Plambeck’s designs have a painterly approach, and she likes to experiment with different methods, including woodcuts, painting, collage, and pen and ink.

Mehraban Rugs has been at the forefront of new and antique rug innovation and acquisition for three generations. Every rug at Mehraban is infused with the soul and spirit of its creators and master weavers. Cutting-edge designs and hand-selected antique rugs embody culture, weave, symbolism and geography.
