Legendary Gracie Hand-painted Wallpaper Firm Opens Showroom in LCDQ

Gracie, the venerable New York company that has been producing handprinted scenic wall coverings since 1898, inaugurates its first West Coast showroom with a 3-day open house from Monday, November 6, to Wednesday, November 8. To celebrate the occasion, third-generation Chairman Brian Gracie and fourth-generation Creative Director Jenn Gracie and President Mike Gracie will travel from the company’s New York headquarters to host and present dozens of new handpainted wallpaper designs being introduced with the new showroom.

Gracie’s West Hollywood showroom in the La Cienega Design Quarter will feature their legendary handpainted and handmade wallpapers, as well as a selection of antiques and lacquer furniture curated by Jenn Gracie.

“We chose the La Cienega Design Quarter as the recognized center for design showrooms in Los Angeles,” Mike Gracie says, adding. “The charming and welcoming feel of their showroom space is complemented by a warm and friendly neighborhood atmosphere.” During the three-day open house, coffee and pastry will be served in the morning, and wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served in the afternoon.

Founded in 1898 by Charles R. Gracie, the namesake company has been producing its exquisite handpainted wallpapers in China for nearly 100 years. Based in the D&D Building in New York, Gracie opened its own showroom in Dallas in 2013 and will follow with this new West Coast outpost in 2017.
