Flashback to FDR Era in Tim Barber’s Legends Window at Renaissance Design Studio
Renaissance Design Studio window designed by Tim Barber for #LEGENDS2013.
“History repeats itself – and lessons we don’t learn, we are destined to repeat. I put a favorite quotation from Franklin D. Roosevelt on the window because it was meaningful in the 1930s – and is even more relevant today,” says architect Tim Barber, who designed an elaborate series of period rooms in the window of Renaissance Design Studio for #LEGENDS2013. “My time capsule celebrates learning from our past and making wise choices for our future.”
Barber celebrates authentic details, responsible materials and the inventive use of natural light. His Los Angeles-based architectural firm is known for custom residences and renovations in vernacular architectural styles. The firm just completed a Shingle Style LEED Gold new home. Barber’s custom furniture and lighting line, Auteur Furnishings, features FSC-certified wood, zero VOC finishes and compostable fabrics. His architecture, lighting and furnishings all integrate handcrafted, durable construction with cutting-edge, sustainable technology.
