Stephen Keeney of Lucca Antiques Showcases New Works of Mixed Media
Lucca Antiques in the LCDQ presents new works of mixed media and sculpture by co-owner Stephen Keeney.
Keeney studied industrial arts in Italy before opening Lucca Antiques with his wife, Susan. He always had an affinity and talent for using found materials in his work and is inspired by the work of painter Anselm Kiefer, particularly his large-scale work and manipulation of materials and surfaces to create provocative paintings and sculpture. Keeney's work also incorporates materials such as ash pigments, textile and metals like zinc, copper and bronze.
The new paintings and sculpture have just arrived to the shop in the past few weeks, and have been met with great interest. Designers and retail clients from all markets are buying them, including Ray Booth, who recently bought a painting for his own home. “I love them!” says Cliff Fong, who just purchased Keeney’s paintings for a client.
Lucca Antiques showcases the Keeneys’ curated selection of European antiques, architectural elements and original designs using rare materials and found objects.
