Galerie Carole Decombe Hosting Launch Party on Sept 21
Parisian dealer Carole Decombe will be celebrating the opening of her new gallery/showroom in the La Cienega Design Quarter with a launch party on September 21, 2016, from 5 to 8pm, at 8629 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.
Plans for the new gallery began in 2014 while Decombe was curating her exhibitions in her Paris gallery at 30 rue de Lille – the chic art center known as le Carré Rive Gauche. Decombe has worked closely with famous French and American designers for many years, and her gallery in Paris is well-known to an affluent following.
While Decombe works with a number of American designers on the East Coast, she had her eyes set on opening a gallery in California and being involved in the design movement in the Golden State. Years ago she had worked at Maxfield’s, a high-end boutique on Melrose, so the desire to return to her Los Angeles roots was inevitable.
“For me, Los Angeles is a place of enthusiasm and energy where artistic spirit soars,” said Decombe.
The Paris dealer has a background in architectural and interior design heritage preservation from École du Louvre, a prestigious higher education institution in Paris, France. She is also a notable member of the 30-year-old le Carré Rive Gauche, a district that embraces a prolific French history and showcases preeminent works of art.
Galerie Carole Decombe is dedicated to artists who are reinventing the decorative arts of the 21st century, using advancements in technology to reshape raw elements from the earth into functional aesthetic designs for one-of-a-kind artwork.
Exclusive artists with whom Decombe partners include photographer, Diana Lui, glass artist, Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert, ceramist, Isabelle Sicart and Emmanuel Levet Stenne. Others include Eric de Dormael, a sculptor in lighting design, Jean-Luc Le Mounier, who alters the composition of rare wood elements and precious metals into distinctive furniture and Mydriaz, a trio of cutting edge artists whose sole creations are in precious metals. The work of these artists will be displayed in the new showroom on Melrose Avenue.
