One of the newest showrooms in the La Cienega Design Quarter is Richard Shapiro Studiolo, which offers a mixture of furnishings and art chosen for their rarity, edge and sculptural power. Richard Shapiro Studiolo is a next-generation successor to Shaprio’s well-known Melrose Avenue Showroom, which closed its doors in 2013. Shaprio, a longtime antiquarian and collector, was drawn to return to the design scene and open a new showroom, exhibiting pieces handpicked for their artistic merit and uniqueness.

In addition to antiques from the 18th and 19th centuries, Richard Shapiro Studiolo focuses on modern, 20th-century pieces. The showroom itself is designed with an atmosphere of openness in order to accommodate pieces large and small, old and new. The eclectic mix provides visitors a range of product to explore, curated with Shapiro’s experienced eye for design.

With decades of experience as a collector, Shapiro has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Veranda, The Wall Street Journal, and many other notable press outlets. He mentioned that he was proud to join as a member of the LCDQ, which helps expose his showroom to the design community in Los Angeles and worldwide.
