Wearstler is known for her meticulously curated aesthetic experiences at hotels and resorts throughout the world, as well as her grand residential interiors for some of the most prominent players in art, business and entertainment. Featured in numerous publications, including Elle Decor, Harper’s Bazaar, Architectural Digest, The Financial Times, InStyle, Women’s Wear Daily, Wearstler has been dubbed “the presiding grande dame of West Coast interior design” by The New Yorker.

A quote from the designer about her #LEGENDS2013 window design at The Rug Company:

“A menagerie of raw and refined, vintage and modern, the installation conjures a timeless aesthetic based upon the thesis that evocative, fresh design with high integrity can live to become a classic.”

The Rug Company combines the ancient craft of rug making with innovative contemporary design. Their handmade rugs are woven on traditional looms using unique Tibetan knots and once complete are hand-washed and dried on the rooftops of Kathmandu. They are finished by hand, which includes fine hairline carving to smooth any contours on the surface of the pile.

The UK company has collaborated with the world’s most inspired and respected designers. Whether masters of print, fashion, art, architecture, interior or product design, The Rug Company works closely with each one, harnessing their creative brilliance and translating their unique vision into beautiful rugs. These designers include Diane von Furstenberg, Alexander McQueen, Allegra Hicks, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Jonathan Adler, Paul Smith and Nicky Haslam.
