Richard Haines: “What I Saw Today”

Apr 8 - May 11, 2011
Fuller + Roberts Co.

Curated by Diane Rosenstein

April 8 – May 7, 2011

Gallery Hours: Mon – Fri, 11am – 6pm; Sat. 12 – 5pm

Fuller + Roberts Co. is pleased to announce an exhibition of drawings by New York artist Richard Haines. For his first West Coast exhibition, curator Diane Rosenstein will present a survey of Haines’ acclaimed fashion illustrations, portraiture, and erotica. The exhibition will comprise original drawings – many published in the New York Times, as well as the artist’s wildly popular blog “What I Saw Today.”

Richard Haines is among today’s most sought after fashion illustrators. It is not uncommon to see Haines seated front row at fashion week’s most desirable shows busily creating drawings for clients including the NY Times and InStyle Magazine. Recently, he’s had two exhibitions in NYC: “The Line of Beauty” at Envoy Enterprises on Chrystie Street (2009), and “The Line Exposed”: Selected Erotica at John Bartlett (2010). Next month, he is included in “The Boys of Bushwick”: a group show at Norte Maar Gallery in Brooklyn opening April 1st.

Diane Rosenstein is an independent curator and art advisor with a focus on 20th Century and contemporary art. Rosenstein is a former Design Editor of Angeleno Magazine.

Fuller + Roberts Co. is a design gallery & showroom founded by screenwriter Bryan Fuller (“Pushing Daises”) and interior decorator Scott Roberts. Inside the new La Cienega space is a carefully edited selection of Twentieth Century design, an eponymous house collection, fine art photography, and vintage film posters.

“What I Saw Today” is the first exhibition in a planned series of curated shows.

The artist will attend an invitation only Reception on Thursday, April 7th, 2011 from 6-8 pm. For further information, contact Scott Roberts @ 310-652-1522.
