DWR

Design Within Reach is hosting a summer-themed event at their studio in the LCDQ on June 22 to celebrate the design house’s newly released catalog. The soirée includes a charitable silent auction, the proceeds of which will be donated to Inner-City Arts, an award-winning, Los Angeles-based space where children receive instruction on visual, performing, and media arts.

Participants of the auction will have an opportunity to bid on ten items and experiences donated by Besler & Sons, Museum of Ice Cream, Sqirl, fellow LCDQ member Woven, and many other LA-based businesses and artists. These auction items and design experiences were selected in relation to the content of DWR’S June catalog and online platform, both of which feature Los Angeles-based creatives and sites of interest.

Some of the experiences to be auctioned off include:

“But first, design”

– Meet architects Clayton Taylor and Jai Kumaran of West of West at Alfred Coffee on Melrose Place, adjacent to the firm’s newly designed pop-up store for Garrett Leight California Optical. Alfred Coffee and Garret Leight have both donated $100 gift cards to be used with this experience.

“Afternoon Delight”

– 6 tickets to the SOLD OUT Museum of Ice Cream and a complimentary ice cream from Coolhaus.

The items for auction are no less enviable than the experiences. Guests may bid on:
– A vintage rug from Woven
– A group of Terrazzo tchotchkes designed and handmade by Besler & Sons in Downtown L.A.
– A beach towel and tote designed for the event by LA-based artist Geoff McFetridge
