“Not only are these my favorite things,” says Mark D. Sikes about the window vignette he created at Mecox for #Legends2013, “but they’re also pretty things that transcend the past, present and future.”
Sikes spent two decades working in merchandising, store design and marketing for several well-known apparel and home retailers. Building on this, the designer decided to use his talent for creating exceptional environments and launched a new career in interior design. He also has a very successful lifestyle blog, MarkDSikes.com, a daily record of what inspires him—“chic people, glamorous places and stylish things. His Hollywood Hills home was recently on the cover of House Beautiful.
A quote from the designer on his #LEGENDS2013 window design at Mecox:
“Blue, green and beautiful! A signal to spring, a hint to summer, LA indoor outdoor living at its best—a window full of my favorite things: hand-painted wallpaper, sun-faded textiles, a Billy Baldwin Chair, signature blue and white ceramics, eclectic lighting and modern accents.”
Mecox is known for achieving an overall balance between the indoor and outdoor living environment with their selection of furniture. At any one of the eight Mecox emporiums, once can always expect a fine selection of home and garden furnishings, united by an unwavering insistence to quality, texture and form. They carry spectacular one-of-a-kind antiques and re-editions as well as their own classic Mecox designs.
