To celebrate the release of Gardens Are For Living, Kelly Wearstler is hosting a book signing with renowned author Judy Kameon at her Melrose boutique on Tuesday, July 1, from 5 to 7pm.

Kameon, the founder of the L.A. landscape design firm Elysian Landscapes, has created gardens for residential clients like Sofia Coppola and commercial clients like the Parker Palm Springs. On that project she worked closely with Jonathan Adler, who designed the hotel’s interiors and writes in his introduction to her book, “Judy Kameon should be a full-time Artist’s Muse.”  Her work has been extensively featured in print magazines and blogs. Architectural Digest writes, “Kameon’s gardens have a casual, naturalistic feel but are marvels of precise botanical pairing, ingenious layout, and smart furniture and accessory selection.”

In Gardens Are For Living, Kameon shares her insights for making beautiful outdoor spaces that are both artful and functional, believing that gardens should be spaces for gathering, entertaining, and relaxing. Over the years, Kameon has developed a unique personal style for creating rooms outdoors by extending interior design to the exterior. In her book, she shows readers how to expand the space of their own home and also provides practical tips for what to look for when choosing a garden’s paths, walls, plants, furniture, and more.
