Join us for an inside look at the life of American style icon C.Z. Guest, who had such an influence on society, fashion and interiors over five decades that Time magazine put her on the cover in 1962.
Design author Susanna Salk travels from Connecticut to attend #LEGENDS2013 and give a visual presentation on the book that Vogue, Vanity Fair and other style magazines are raving about, C.Z. Guest: American Style Icon. Salk’s 280-page volume is full of stunning images photographed by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Irving Penn, Cecil Beaton and Slim Aarons. Though she was a grand dame of high society, Guest was modern and considered a night out dancing at Studio 54 or partying at Andy Warhol’s factory as important as a black-tie ball. And she kept company with a broad array of prominent people, from Diego Rivera and Diana Vreeland to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
Having access to the people who knew C.Z. well, Susanna will give behind-the-scenes glimpse into C.Z.’s life – and how she was the belle of the ball – during her presentation on Thursday, May 9, at 2:30 pm.
